Inspired by her colleague
Elspeth’s tales of Uganda, Jayne joined the team in 1999 to find out what
all the fuss was about! Her first trip to Uganda a few months later did not
disappoint, and as such Jayne has continued to be involved and has since
returned to Uganda. Initially Jayne’s key aims were to secure corporate
sponsorship and service provision to enable the Ugandan Scouts Association to
achieve the objectives of their community projects as part of the high profile
Uganda 2000 programme. As such, Jayne capitalised on her commercial skills and
experience from working in IT sales to approach Companies and business people
both in Uganda and the UK for support. Since the Uganda Sunrise team has
expanded, Jayne is now a Trustee and has the responsibility of co-ordinating
the website with her counterpart in Uganda |
